How It Works

When choosing a material to use on your driveway, concrete is hard to beat. With all of the benefits listed above, plus the added bonus of its durability, there is no better option than concrete for your driveway. Your next step of options are choosing to DIY your driveway or to hire a professional construction company. While initially a DIY project might sound fun, a job to this scale is best to be handled by the experts who are licensed and trained to do this sort of work. Working with Frison Construction means you can always count on transparency and a company that will work with you to ensure your desired results are achieved. Our concrete driveway installation process typically goes like this:

We will clear the current area and level out any soil, grass, rocks, etc. that are standing in the way.

Then we use our square outline to ensure that every High Early concrete pour is put in the right spot and does not mesh with surrounding areas.

Once all of the concrete has been poured into your desired design, we will flatten and level the area to ensure your driveway is smooth.

Lastly, when all puring and flattening are finished, we ask that you wait to use your driveway until the concrete is fully dried. As we used High Early concrete the drying process won’t take as long compared to if we used standard concrete.

FAQ

We've answered some frequently asked concrete driveway questions.

  • What is High Early concrete?

High Early concrete is our preferred concrete as it is stronger and dries faster. It has a PSI of anywhere between 5000 and 7000 which far beats that of regular concrete with a PSI of around 3000.

  • What is PSI?

PSI, or pounds per square inch, is a unit of measurement that indicates force per unit area. It is used to measure the strength of concrete.

  • How thick should a concrete driveway be?

A major factor in determining the driveway’s structural capabilities is thickness. Thickness can vary depending on how much weight the concrete will have to ensure but for a typical driveway the thickness should be a minimum of 4 inches.

  • What kind of preparation is required before pouring concrete?

Before we begin pouring the concrete, we will have to do base installation, driveway grading, driveway framing, and concrete reinforcement.
